Palpal withdrawal to my BPI account was successful! please see the details below:

Paypal withdrawal date: January 31, 2008.
Bank: BPI
Account Type: Express Teller Savings Account (PHP)
Bank Code: 010040018

paypalw.PNG

I received the money I withdrawn above last February 05, 2008. See the screen capture of my BPI express online account.

bpi.PNG

An amount of PHP150 was deducted from the total amount withdrawn. It might be a transaction fee deducted by BPI. I’m not sure though.

The total deduction from the amount withdrawn is PHP200 (Paypal: 50, Local Bank: 150). Almost the same deduction when withdrawn to UnionBank EON on $US1 = PHP40 exchange rate :)

Update: Waiting time is 2-5 banking days. Based from my experience, I get my money every Wednesday, whether I withdrawn from Paypal, Thursday the previous week, or Monday the current week. I think they have this sort of clearing time.

And since I keep on receiving queries about BPIExpressCash and BPI Express Account in relation to paypal, I had decided to modify this post to include information regarding this.

Can I use my BPI Express Cash or BPI Express Teller Savings Account to verify my Paypal Account?

As of today, Sept. 23, 2008, NO. for Paypal only accepts VISA Debit Cards. I’m not sure for Credit Cards. (this is from my own experience, please correct me if Paypal rules already changed)

I don’t have a credit card, or I don’t want to use my credit card, what are my other options?

If you are like me who prefer paying things thru cash lol! you can use a debit card to enroll and verify with Paypal.

Well the easiest way is to apply for a UnionBank EON Cyber Account. You can even apply for this online. just check unionbank’s website at www.unionbankph.com

I already have my EON Account, What’s next?

There are two things that you have to do:

A.

1. Enroll your EON account with paypal. This serves as a basic link of your EON account and Paypal. To do this, make sure that you already signed up with paypal.

2. Just follow basic enrollment prompt, and Enter your 16- character card number and Card Verification Value(CVV) -last 3-digit number found at the back of the card.

3. Enter your address of record found in the Profile page at the Unionbankph.com online banking site.

(Source:Union Bank’s site)

Basic enrollment will give you limited options. Your account can also send an amount based on your limit (set by paypal). Withdrawal and Request Money Option are not even possible. To lift your account’s limit, you need to verify your account with paypal. This process is referred to by Unionbank as PayPal’s Expanded Use Program.

B.

1. Make sure you have deposited your EON account with amount equivalent to US$1.95

2. There will surely be an option there to proceed with your expanded use enrollment, so just follow all the prompts.

3. When you register your UnionBank Visa card, PayPal will charge you the equivalent of US$ 1.95 for expanded use. Pay Pal will credit you back the US$ 1.95 amount on your first PayPal transaction. For EON and eWallet cards, your account must be active (In my experience, activation took about 4days, upon receipt of my EON Card) have the equivalent of US$ 1.95 or atleast P200.00 in pesos in order for the expanded use transaction to go through when you first enroll your card (Source: Unionbank Site).

4. You will then be issued a 4-digit Expanded Use Number, How will you know your expanded use number? Since I am discussing about EON here, your only option is to call  UnionBank Customer Service Call Center (84-186) and ask the customer service agent to provide you with the 4-digit PayPal expanded use code. Do this as soon as your account has been activated.

5. In my experience, it took about 5days before I got my Expanded Use Number. Just call them back again after several days to follow up on this.

6. Once you have this number, go back to the My Account Overview section of the PayPal web site and click on “Finish Expanded Use Enrollment” to enter the 4-digit number.

7. Upon entering your Expanded Use code, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that your debit/credit card has been verified. Congratulations! Your PayPal account is now verified for Expanded Use.

(Source: Unionbank’s Site)

As a verified user, you will enjoy several additional benefits like local bank withrawal etc. etc.

Now if you wish to withdraw funds from Paypal to your local bank account(s) (aside from your EON account), NO you can’t use your BPI express Cash, But you can use your BPI Express Teller Savings account. For more info on Local Bank withdrawal, you may want to see my post about it here

Hope you’ll find this little info useful :)

Disclamer: All information stated here are based from own experience, If Paypal and Unionbank’s rule was already changed as of editing this  post, please don’t hesitate to update me :)

200 rin nabawas sa akin, pero may withdrawal is more than 7K pesos, which has no transaction charge sa Paypal. so, 200 ang kinuha ng BDO. :)

the name field is editable, but the surname is not…

“you must enter all information exactly as your bank has it. Otherwise, transfers to and from your PayPal account will be returned. “

Wow that’s good to hear! I’ve been really pretty worried about how to transfer your money from paypal to your BPI account. I have tons of questions to ask. I just recently added a credit card through my paypal account. I’m using the BPI service din but this is my first time to use Paypal. Is it okay to ask you through email?

follow-up: do you have to enroll your credit card to withdraw from your paypal account? according to another forum yes daw kahit you will be making the withdrawal from your bank and not the credit card. kahit debit card sana pero they look for the visa/master/amex etc according sa dropdown menu and wala naman ganung affiliation bpi express teller (although bdo debit card meron, master. thanks in advance girl :)

fuji-chan- if im not mistaken, marhgil of macuha.com used his bdo account to withdraw his paypal funds, charge is php200 (aside from paypal charge)

for you to be able to withdraw paypal funds, your account needs to be verified. in order to get verified you need to use a credit card or a visa debit card.

I tried BPI express carh but it was not accepted, and since I don’t have a credit card, I use my unionbank eon cyberaccount to verify my paypal account :)

Hi, thank you for posting something like this. I’m also using Paypal to accept payments from my clients, and BPI to withdraw my funds to. So far, my withdrawal to my BPI account is still pending, hopefully by next week meron na.

I think BPI charges you for inward remittances (not sure yet though), here’s a list which I think might help

Hi, I’d like to ask. Yung BPI Express Teller lang ba ang kelangan gamitin? kasi nag prompt yung paypal.

“Link and confirm your card to get Verified and lift limits on your PayPal account.”

kelangan ba talaga credit card? or okay lang na bank account lang?

Hi amy,

Do you know if I could verify my Paypal account using my BPI Express Atm? Because I don’t see Maestro in Paypal’s list?

Or could I use a credit card of a relative (same surname as mine) to verify my Paypal account?

Your reply would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Reia,
BPI express atm account cannot be used to verify your paypal account. just apply for Unionbank’s EON cyber account and verify your account first. Account Opening is easy, you can even apply online just like I did :)

No, seriously, don’t you think its a hassle already that I have to wait that long?

And if you can think of any alternative, I’d be glad to know about those.

Thanks!

If you tried to back read, you should already know the answer hehehe…
anyways, You can’t use your BPIexpress Cash account since Paypal is only accepting VISA debit cards, in that case you should apply for an EON account (Union Bank), that’s the one im using and used to verify my account.

Hello! I just withdrew money from my PayPal account to BPI Family ATM (verified via CC).

Today, it shows “Completed” in PayPal, but the change doesn’t reflect on the BPI Express Online details.

Am I just paranoid or does it really take long before the changes reflect on BPI’s website, even if it says “Completed” already in PayPal?

Thank you! :)

I usually receive my money every Wednesday. The transaction might be completed in your paypal account, but it takes time for it to be reflected in your bank account.

Could you please help/give me the step-by-step procedure in adding my BPI ATM debit card? Could you correct me if I did the right thing for the following info:
1. CARD TYPE - MASTERCARD (right?)
2. CARD NUMBER - Is this the 16-digit numbers infront of my ATM card?
3. SECURITY CODE - Where do I get this?
Any info would be very much appreciated. PLEASE, HELP ME!

Kung debit card po yan, hindi po sya accepted sa paypal.

Hi, Ms. Amy! It’s me again. My account with BPI is savings account na ATM.
I already added my BPI savings account to PayPal kaso when I want to withdraw funds from my bank account hindi ako maka-withdraw dahil ang limit ko is $0.00. For me to LIFT THE LIMIT, kailangan ma-LINK and CONFIRM ko ang card ko. This is where I am having a problem with. They ask for what type my card is, anong card number and security code.
Haay naku! It’s been months na talaga, but I was not successful with this. I still don’t have my Unionbank EON card na 3 months ko na ring hinihintay.
May I know how and what did you do to successfully add and withdraw through your BPI account. PLEASE HELP ME!

This is the verification process.
actually this should be done first for you to be able to withdraw funds…

Sad to say you can’t use your BPI savings account to verify your paypal account…

Nagtry ka ba tumawag sa unionbank, kung san branch mo kukunin yung eon account mo?

Ako kasi tumawag ako.. di naman nila ako tinawagan na available na pala ang EON Card ko, so yun tumawag ako dun sa branch to confirm if my card is already available, which is available na nga… so I went to the branch and got my card. Don’t forget to deposit at least 200 pesos para no hassle ang verification…

just post your comment or email me at email.techiegirl@gmail.com should there be any concerns that I might be of help :)
